This new form of car buying has become more widely used and respected each year since Patterson began his business 27 years ago. Patterson's involvement with the car industry began in the late 1960s when he washed cars after school. At that point he fell in love with cars and set a goal of becoming part of the automotive industry. After college, he began working for a car dealership and later rose to assistant manager and then general manager.
